Gruissem Leads the WSOP €25,600 High Roller Event

The second day of the WSOP €25,600 High Roller Event saw German Poker Star, Phillip Gruissem take a commanding lead in the competition, having played his hands perfectly to earn him that position. At the end of the second day, Gruissem was the only player to have more than 1 million chips and have a 650,000 chip lead over his nearest competitor Scott Seiver. Jason Koon, and Erik Seidel are in third and fourth place with 702,000 and 610,000 chips respectively with the five-time gold bracelet winner, David Negreanu holding steady in 7th position with 411,000 Chips. At the close of the second day of the event, 13 players were going into the next round with Poker Super Star, Phil Ivey being the last player to be eliminated. By the end of the competition, the final nine players will earn a minimum prize money of €50,400, while the winner will take the grand total of €725,000 for the title as well as the WSOP Gold Bracelet. Jackie Glazier Wins First Bracelet at the WSOPE Ladies Event

Over the past few years, the number of women poker players has increased dramatically. In many of the big poker events, there is at least two to three women players, and this is a great opportunity for them to showcase their skill and ability in the card rooms. This has prompted many poker event management groups to launch an all-women event such as the World Series of Poker Ladies Event. In the recently concluded WSOPE Ladies Event, Australian Poker Star, Jackie Glazier won her first ever Gold Bracelet. This is a great achievement for Glazier, whose career has been plagued with near wins and close finishes. Martin Finger Wins EPT 10 London £50,000 Super High Roller

The tenth season of the European Poker Tour (EPT) £50,000 Super High Roller came to a close on the third day of the event with Martin Finger claiming the title after 22 levels. The event which saw 57 entries was action-packed throughout the three days where players were pushed to making big calls early in the game. The German star, Finger claimed the title by eliminating all his opponents collecting £821,000 as the prize money. He is now the first player to have won the Shamballa bracelet and an EPT Main Event.  Read more

New Players Announced for Party Poker Premier League VII

Earlier this week, Party Poker announced the name of two more players for the lineup of Party Poker Premier League. The players announced are Jeff Gross and Phil Laak. Both have been known to be very good friends and will each shell out $125,000 for buy-in that is required to take part in the event that is schedule to take place at Playground Poker Club. The eventwill also be televised directly from Montreal between 20th and 26th November. The other players in the line up for the premier league include Antonio Esfandiari and Tony G with an additional 8 spots yet to be filled.  Read more
