Gearing up for Aussie Millions 2014

Eyes have now narrowed down to the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas where the 2014 edition of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure is taking place with great vigor. However, the moment the Caribbean Adventure ends, the focus will be on Australia in the Southern Hemisphere for the Aussie Millions. The tournament is scheduled to begin on January 23 and will feature a Main Event worth $10,600 (AUD) taking place on February 2, along with challenges worth $25,000 (AUD), $100,000 (AUD and $250,000 (AUD). The biggest tournament in Australia made headlines earlier in November 2013 when Crown Melbourne announced about a new agreement for the 2014 edition of the Aussie Millions Main Event becoming a part of the PokerStars.net Asia-Pacific Poker Tour or the APPT. Daniel Negreanu Crowned as the Poker Player of the Decade

Daniel Negreanu who is currently a member of the PokerStars Pro team has gained recognition as the best poker player of the decade by an independent poker ranking agency called Global Poker Index or GPI. This recognition from GPI has been followed by Negreanu’s outstanding performance in 2013. Martin Finger Leads in the Super High Rollers

The Super High Rollers tournament began with a bang at the Atlantis Resort at the Paradise Island in Bahamas, which is part of the 2014 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure. The game began slowly as the players began their battle for supremacy on the first day. Some of the big names who were present included Ryan Riess, Antonio Esfandiari and Daniel Negreanu. At the end of the eight levels, it was the German Martin Finger who was leading with a total of 829000 chips. On the first day, the total number of registrations were only 52 but the organizers were hopeful about it increasing significantly on the second day and that is what happened. Last year, the field consisted of 47 unique participants and a total of 12 re-entries for a combined total of 59 buy-ins, which makes this year well within the distance of striking the same mark.
