Everleaf Gaming Network Update
February 22, 2012
As most poker players have probably heard, the Everleaf Gaming Network is no longer accepting US poker players. The network changed their terms and conditions roughly 10 days ago now and one of the changes was that US and France poker players were restricted from playing on the network anymore. When news broke about the situation it became clear that the network had to leave the US market because they were forced about by the US Department of Homeland Security.
When the changes were made there was a lot of speculation being made by the poker skins on the network. Everleaf Gaming said that they were going to release an official statement, but after 10+ days the network still hasn’t released a statement to players in the United States. Players in the USA with funds on the Everleaf Gaming Network have grown extremely worried and the network has handled the entire situation very unprofessionally.
Just recently it was confirmed by another source that the Everleaf Gaming Network did in fact have one of their processors seized by the US Department of Homeland Security. It has been reported that the network lost roughly $30,000 and they’re currently trying to obtain the seized funds. The network skins have been answering 100’s of questions this week and they’ve stated that the funds on the network are completely segregated and will be available for withdrawal.
The only problem is that players don’t know when they’ll be able to withdraw their money yet and the Everleaf Gaming Network hasn’t even shed an ounce of light on the situation. The network is still operating, but the traffic has dropped this past week now that US players aren’t allowed to play on the network. Poker games are still running on the network all the time, but the selection of tournaments has taken a big hit due to the player pool being quite a bit smaller now.
Everleaf sent out an email to the poker skins on the network this past week and the email stated that the network would still be running like normal. The network advised the poker skins to tell US players to contact the LGA about funds as well. The traffic on the network has been averaging about 300 real money players online at any given time with about 100 players online during non-perk hours on the network. Earlier today the network peaked at about 600 real money players online and playing.
The LGA hasn’t made a statement on the situation yet, but as soon as we hear more news about this story we’ll make sure we let you players know what’s going on. If you don’t live in the USA you can still play on the network, but we’d advise being cautious at this time until the Everleaf Gaming Network releases an official statement to poker players. Overall the traffic hasn’t dropped that much due to blocking US players, but it has yet to be seen how many other players may leave the network now.
Bodog Poker Diamond Poker Open
February 20, 2012
Bodog Poker will be hosting a special Diamond Poker Open event starting this March. Satellites are already running to the events that will be played during the Diamond Poker Open at Bodog Poker and we recommend trying to win seats now. The full schedule has been released and there will be a total of 52 tournaments running during the Diamond Poker Open. Bodog Poker will be running over 2000 satellites leading up to the event and during the event, so 1000’s of players will be able to qualify for cheap.
Bodog Diamond Poker Open Kick-Off Event
The Diamond Poker Open is going to start on March 4th 2012 with a Kick-Off Event. The Kick-Off tournament is going to have $20K guaranteed in the prize pool although there isn’t going to be an overlay. Tons of players are waiting to play in the Bodog DPO and I expect the playing field to be big for the opening event on March 4th at 5:00PM ET. Mark your calendars now and try winning a seat into the opening event by playing in one of the many Diamond Poker Open Satellites.
Bodog Diamond Poker Open Contender Series
Bodog Poker has broken the Diamond Poker Open down into two segments with the 1st being the Contender Series. Bodog will be hosting the Contender Series from March 5th – March 18th 2012. The tournaments will have low – medium stake buy-ins and there will be over $100K guaranteed during the Contender Series. The Contender Series will have two events played each day and the Main Event will be played on March 18th at 5:00PM ET ($25K GTD Prize Pool).
Bodog Diamond Poker Open Championship Series
As soon as the Contenders Series is over the Championship Series will begin. The Championship Series will run from March 19th – April 1st 2012. Most of the tournaments during the Championship Series will have high buy-ins, but the prize pools will also be much bigger. There is going to be over $600K guaranteed in the Diamond Poker Open Championship Series events including $50K GTD in the Main Event prize pool, which will be hosted on April 1st 2012 at 4:00PM ET.
The player that wins the Championship Series Main Event will also win an amazing $5000 Championship Watch. Bodog Poker has done a great job setting up the Diamond Poker Open and I think the series is going to be awesome. I like the fact that Bodog is giving away 1000’s of tickets to the events through satellites tournaments this month and next month. You can buy-in to the events directly at Bodog Poker although it’s much less expensive if you win tickets to the events you want to play in.
The satellite tournaments will start at only $1.10 and will give you the chance to win seats into any of the events. You can also play in higher priced satellite tournaments to increase your odds of winning a seat through the satellite. The Diamond Poker Open is going to be great and Bodog Poker has guaranteed to giveaway a minimum $750K during the tournament series that Bodog will be hosting throughout March and April.
Victor Chandler’s €8,000 Endurance Challenge in February
February 17, 2012
Do you have what it takes to stay put at the poker table? Then you may be up to Victor Chandler’s Endurance Challenge this February. The online poker room is hosting an endurance race where players can compete for their share of €8,000. The challenge begins at 00:00 CET on February 21 and will end at 23:59:59 CET on February 29, 2012. Victor Chandler Poker has hosted two such endurance races in the past, when a number of poker players made some good money. And you too can win some this time.
How to earn your share
The €8,000 prize pool of the Endurance Challenge would be divided amongst players who earn at least 220 VIP Points everyday, between February 21 and 29. The amount would be divided in equal portions, depending on the number of players who qualify. So if you are good at playing poker, all you need to do is play as many tournaments and cash games as possible to earn the required VIP Points for the day. The list of players who are eligible for a share of the prize pool will be available on the Victor Chandler Poker site.
How are VIP Points awarded
VIP points are awarded for the amount of rake you spend on the online poker site. According to the Victor Chandler rake system, players are awarded one VIP Point for every €0.50 they spend on the rake. Partial VIP Points are also awarded when your contribution to the rake is less than €0.50. You can also earn VIP Points for the amount you spend towards tournament fees.
Victor Chandler MaxStack for $10,000
In addition to the Endurance Challenge, Victor Chandler is also holding its second freeroll of the $10,000 MaxStack this February. The qualification period of the $5,000 freeroll had begun on January 30 and will end on February 23, 2012. The freeroll tournament will take place on February 26. The MaxStack promo is exclusively offered to PokerNews customers. To be eligible for the freeroll, a player has to earn at least 10 VIP points during the qualification period.
But there is a reason why you should earn more than just 10 VIP Points during the qualification period. In fact, you should try to earn as many VIP Points as you can during the qualification period, as the points you have will determine the size of your starting stack in the freeroll. The higher your VIP Points, the bigger your starting stack would be for the Freeroll. The minimum starting stack for the event is 1,000, which you can earn with 10 VIP Points. The maximum stack, however, can go as high as 30,000, which you can earn with 300 VIP Points.
Obviously, the bigger your stack size, the longer you will remain at the table. This means, your chances of beating your opponents at the table will also be better when you start with a bigger stack.
If you are not yet a member of Victor Chandler Poker, register with them today and you could also get a 200% deposit bonus of upto €1,000 for signing up.
Satellite Tournaments to Help You Gain Entry to WSOP 2012
February 8, 2012
Recently, 888poker announced that it would be giving away great packages to the 2012 WSOP main event. The online poker room stated that it would be hosting satellite tournaments for this year’s WSOP, wherein players will get to win vacation packages to attend the event in Las Vegas. But 888 is not the only one offering satellites for the grand event this year. There are a number of other casinos – online and offline – which are hosting satellite tournaments so that devoted and talented poker players get a chance to participate in the big event.
Find your way to WSOP
One of the best ways to get into the prestigious WSOP tournament is through the satellites. One reason for this is that the buy-ins for satellites are not very high. Secondly, playing at the satellites gives you a chance to sharpen your poker skills for the big event. So what are your options?
888 WSOP package
888poker has one of the most exciting WSOP packages, which can be won by participating in the online poker room’s satellites. These satellites will take place every day and will start every two hours on the site. Once every two weeks, the site will give the WSOP vacation packages of $15,500 to Las Vegas. The package includes $10,000 for entry to the Main Event, accommodation at a luxury hotel, and travel. Added to that, winners would also get to participate in a special VIP event hosted by 888, where they can meet 888poker brand ambassadors Shane Warne and Sam Holden.
Live satellite games
Besides 888, there are a few other casinos that are offering satellite games for entry into the WSOP main event. The 101 Casino in Petaluma, California, is hosting single-table poker tournaments on every Monday and Wednesday in February and March. As of now, the casino has announced that the tournaments would be held on February 18, 20, 22, 27 and 29, and on March 5, 2012. The casino also plans to have more such satellites after that, in March and April.
Winners of these single table tournaments will get a seat at the final table of 101 Casino. The winner of the final table gets to go to the WSOP events, starting on the July 7, 2012. The buy-in for these single table satellites is just $155.
You could be the next big winner
The WSOP 2012 will officially begin in May this year. In the meantime, a number of online poker sites are hosting satellite tournaments that can win you a seat to the $10,000 main event of WSOP. Do you know what that means? You could be the next Darvin Moon, who just spent $130 on a satellite and went on to win more than $5 million in the WSOP.
If not the WSOP, you could also look at satellites to make your way to the WPT (World Poker Tour) that starts on March 5. San Hose’s Bay 101 Casino is one of the casinos offering satellite tournaments for the WPT. The casino is hosting satellites everyday starting at 9:30 in the morning. These tournaments will take place through the 29th of February, offering poker players a chance to win the $10,000 seat at WPT.
PokerStars Double Vision Promotion is Back
February 5, 2012
PokerStars will be running the Double Vision promotion again on Sunday February 12th 2012. PokerStars last ran this promotion in October and it was a huge success, so PokerStars has decided to bring back the promotion this month. The last thing Double Vision was offered the Sunday Million and Sunday Warm-Up were the only two tournaments that were hosted twice. This time around PokerStars will be hosting the two tournaments above twice plus the Sunday Storm and Sunday Kick-Off.
What is the Double Vision Promotion?
The PokerStars Double Vision promotion on February 12th 2012 will have players seeing double. Players will get the chance to play in the four tournaments listed above twice in the same day. The tournaments will have the same prize amount guaranteed in both tournaments, which means that there will be two Sunday Millions hosted next Sunday.
I’ve listed the times of when each tourney will start below so that you don’t miss any of the events next Sunday. The tournaments only start 30 minutes apart this coming Sunday, so you’ll need to multi-table in order to play in all of the tournaments.
• Sunday Kick-Off $75K Guarantee will start at 8:00 EST & 8:30 EST
• Sunday Warm-Up $500K Guarantee will start at 11:00 EST & 11:30 EST
• Sunday Storm $200K Guarantee will start at 13:00 EST & 13:30 EST
• Sunday Million $1M Guarantee will start at 14:00 EST & 14:30 EST
PokerStars Double Vision Satellites
Make sure you sign-in to your PokerStars account and play in the satellite tournaments this week. There will be at least twice as many satellite tournaments running to the Sunday Majors this week, which means your chances of winning a seat into the Sunday Million or one of the other major tournaments will be even better than usual. With a few million up for grabs in these 8 tournaments alone next weekend there is no better place to spend Sunday than at PokerStars.
With the NFL finishing up this weekend there won’t be much going on next Sunday anyways. I’m sure the traffic levels are going to be lower at PokerStars this weekend during the Superbowl, as it’s watched by millions of people around the world and not just in the United States. You may be able to find some overlays in the MTT’s this Sunday at PokerStars, but next weekend you can expect the major tournaments to have bigger playing fields than we’ve seen in a couple months.
This weekend might be a good time to get a head start on earning tickets to the tournaments next weekend. A lot of players will be watching the Superbowl this weekend and the satellites should be weaker than usual tomorrow. One tournament everyone should play in is the Sunday Storm, as the buy-in is only $10 and it’s a huge MTT. The Sunday Storm is excellent for players that want to get better at playing MTT’s and next weekend you’ll have the chance to win a share of $400K+ by playing in both Sunday Storm’s.
