Changes in European Poker Tour Berlin and London

August 24, 2012

PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) is among the most popular poker tournaments in the world. The current season of this tour will have a few changes in terms of venues and dates.

Changes in the European Poker Tour

The EPT London stop has now been changed and will take place from the 6 to the 16 of March in 2013 instead of this year. The events will be held at the Landmark Hotel, which was one of the greatest railway hotels of the 19th century. The hotel will host players participating in the main event which features a buy in worth £5,250. Side events of the tour will be held in the Grosvenor Victoria Casino on the same dates. The casino and five-star hotel are just a short distance away from each other.

The second change in the EPT is related to its Berlin festival. Initially, the Berlin dates were fixed for April 24th to the 4th of May, but it has now been changed to the 17th of April. This change was made to facilitate the Italian Poker Tour San Remo in between the German edition of the EPT and the finals in Monte Carlo.

The Berlin festivities will come to a halt on the 27th of April and the main event champion will be crowned. Others can go on ahead towards IPT San Remo, which will go on till the 7th of May from the 24th of April.

The EPT Grand Final is being held from the 6th to the 15th of May in Monaco. The main event will run from the 6th to the 12th.

About the European Poker Tour

The EPT is a poker tournament series very similar to the World Poker Tour. This series has been created by John Duthie and was started in 2004. It is sponsored and partly owned by PokerStars. The main feature about this tour is its buy-ins which is more affordable compared to other tournament series like the World Poker Tour. But from the season 4 of the EPT, the buy-ins became quite expensive.
