Get Ready For the Melbourne Poker Championship Down Under

The much awaited poker championship of Australia is all set to begin this May. Pack your bags and get ready to go down under to be a part of the Melbourne Poker Championship 10 that kicks off on May 3, 2012. The series will feature various poker tournaments with buy-ins ranging from $200 to $1,100, and will take place through May 14, 2012.

Event schedule

The 2012 Melbourne Poker Championship, the tenth edition of the series, will begin on May 3, at the popular Crown Poker Room in the city.

Day 1

The first event of the championship will be a $65 satellite tournament for the main event. This will be followed by three JHDS Supershot Turbo events (1 in 5 players win) at 12:10 pm, 2:10 pm and 4:10 pm. The buy-in for these events is $130. The highlight of the day would be Flight 1(Day 1A) of the $550 Joe Hachem DeepStack 9, which begins at 6:10 pm.

Day 2 and 3

On May 4 and 5, players will get to participate in various satellite tournaments to qualify for the Main Event. Along with that, the round 2 and 3 (Day 1B and 1C) of the $550 Joe Hachem DeepStack 9 will begin at 12:10 pm on May 4 and may 5 respectively. Both these events will be repechage events.

Day 4

On day 4 of the championship, May 6, you can participate in the Megastack NLH event with a buy-in of $200. This event is followed by the start of Day 2 for the $550 Joe Hachem DeepStack 9. At 6:10 pm, you can partake in the NLH Teams Non-Stop Turbo team event, for a buy-in of $300. Two $65 satellites for the main event will also be held during the day.

Day 5 and 6

On May 7, you cam participate in the 7 Game Mixed Event for a buy-in of $340. The game will be a combination of NLHE, PLO and H.O.R.S.E. On May 8, a PLO (double chance) for a buy-in of $550 will take place. In addition to that, $65 step 1 and $120 step 2 satellite tournaments will take place on both days. Also, there will be a $130 Supershot – Any $550 Side Event on both days.

Day 7 and 8

Alongside the satellites, NLH Bounties for a buy-in of $550 will take place on May 9. Winners will be rewarded $500 for each bounty. On May 10, you can participate in the NLH 6-handed event for $550.

Main Event

The main event of the Melbourne Poker Championship 2012 begins at 6:10 pm on May 10. The Day 1 of the event is spread over 3 days. Day 2 of the Main event takes place on May 13 and the final table will be on May 14.

Besides the main event, players can participate in satellites for other poker events like the Terminator and the APPT between day 8 and 12 of the championship. On May 13, you can also participate in the $200 NLH Turbo Ante Up event.
